About
Anne’s childhood dream of becoming an author took a back seat during various career detours – including as a copywriter, and a communications and marketing manager – until she finally took a crack at it in 2020.
She began her first novel while completing the Australian Writers’ Centre course, ‘Writing for Children and Young Adults’. As a junior fiction adventure about a fearful young rakali (a native water rat) who must find his courage, she developed the story further through other AWC courses. These included ‘Creative Writing Stage 1’, ‘Novel Writing Essentials’, ‘Write Your Novel’ and ‘Edit Your Novel’.
She holds a Master of Arts (majoring in Professional Writing) and enjoys the wisdom, critique and nudge offered by her writing group formed in 2022.
Anne is a member of SCBWI, Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA), the Australian Society of Authors (ASA) and Writing NSW.
In 2024, she won the Junior Fiction Category in the Just Write For Kids Pitch It! Competition.
And in 2025, she signed a three-book contract with Riveted Press for a trilogy based on her original novel. The first book in the series is set for release in early 2027.
When not writing, Anne enjoys helping out with her four young grandchildren, reading, swimming and spending time with family and friends.
She lives and works on the traditional lands of the Gadigal people in Sydney, Australia, and pays her respects to elders past, present and emerging.
